Occupying a space in Uptown that has in recent years been inhabited then ducked out of by a string of other businesses, and most recently on the heels of a compulsory name change (fun with anagrams - switching around the S and the C in SAUCE), Cause Spirits & Soundbar has proven itself to be the bar/venue that could. Difficult as it is to open and sustain any new venue, Cause has been a tried-and-true hot spot for live music, food and drinks in Uptown since its opening, in no small part due to the closing of the neighborhood's other major venue - the Hennepin Avenue location of the Uptown Bar. With a nightly mix of happy hour specials, live music, DJs and trivia, the venue also boasts a rotating selection of pieces by some of the best local artists, as well as an eclectic cocktail menu randomly inspired by Beastie Boys songs.
