Description

The last word of Casselman's Bar & Venue really tells you what you need to know: This is a venue, above all, and a huge one, located on a warehouse-y stretch of Walnut Street in the Ballpark neighborhood. The space can feel absolutely cavernous on an off night. Still, the long bar up front is always welcoming, flanked on one side by couches and pillows, under drawings of Mos Def, Jay-Z and other artists. If there's no live music to move you, you can swing on a giant tire swing or play beer pong. And you don't need to drink all that beer without some sustenance to sop it up: Casselman's has a small but serviceable menu, full of burgers, appetizers and a few Mex specials. And at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, they serve up beef tacos for free as long as the supply holds out.

Then came the amazing display of Dubtribe: Sunshine and Moonbeam... More »

While the back room, which was a distribution warehouse for the May Company in the '40s and '50s, used to sound a bit boomy, a new sound system has done wonders for the place. So has the talent-buying team of Caddy Cadwell and Samantha... More »

Get here early for any show, the room fills up quickly! Girls wear heels, gives you a better chance to see the band on the stage.
