This Oak Cliff gem is jumping during the breakfast seating, where the masses clamor for $1.25 breakfast tacos along with free chips and salsa. Cheese is an extra 50 cents. There are about 20 choices of tacos, including carne guisada, potato, egg and cheese as well as variations with bacon, served at this friendly restaurant housed in a ramshackle building with Mission and Chinese architectural notes. Casita Lupe reels them in from nearby Methodist Hospital by doing home-style Mexican and Tex-Mex grub during both lunch and dinner. However, breakfast is when this joint is really jumping. It's then that you'll also see the popular house pancakes drowning in maple syrup.
