Where everyone knows your name, and the grub's never lame. Seafood's a safe bet here, with the fish and chips and oysters Rockefeller being our faves. Dine upstairs in quaint tranquility and coziness, downstairs in a more pubbish setting, or outside on Casey Moore's vast, wrap-around patio. ASU students, their parents, and longtime Tempeans all meet up here to bend their elbows, quaff pints and fill their bellies. A fun spot, and a veritable Tempe institution.
We're convinced Comedy Central comedian Daniel Tosh has a mild obsession with our city. That's the only logical reason why he would have chosen Tempe's Arizona State University for his College Campu... More »
The ultra-popular neighborhood bar in Tempe will once again be putting on a grand Saint Patty’s Day party on Sunday, March 17, that will take place both inside the historic establishment and outside on the patio and extended premesis. Corned beef... More »

It's Sunday morning, you have a pounding headache, your teeth feel like someone climbed in your mouth while you were sleeping and knitted a tiny sweater on each and every one of them, and you're still... More »

We've all been there. You're at Casey's, drinking what started out as one pint of IPA. It quickly turns to two and, then, God knows how many. What is certain is the raging flood of urine currently threatening to saturate your pants if you don't get up and do something about it. Pushing your way through the throng of bar-goers to make it inside seems impossible. Your only option? The blarney stone. This outdoor wall stained by the liquid leavings of countless drunks before you and shielded... More »
It doesn't get much more "neighborhood" then good ol' Casey Moore's. Situated on the outskirts of the coveted Maple-Ash neighborhood, droves of Tempe locals have called Casey's their home for more than 20 years. Whether you're mobbin' out with your hipster girlfriends on a Friday night, curing your Sunday hangover with a bloody Mary (made famous in these parts by Tyler the bartender), or chillin' on the front porch with a book on a Wednesday afternoon, you'll always feel welcome. FYI: This... More »
We've never talked with Thomas the cat at Casey Moore's (he's a cat, so conversations are out of the question), but we have occasionally given him a pat or meowed at him. Judging from his character and preferred location, we've deduced that he's one of the smarter felines in town. What cat wouldn't want to live at an oyster house? It's clear to us that this cat knows how to party. He's also not shy about rubbing up against the female clientele at Casey's. If you feel like buying him a drink,... More »
Everyone knows that Casey Moore's is a great place to down a brew and eat delicious pub grub, but did you know it's haunted? The story is that an ex-ASU student was murdered on the second story. Now her ghost throws the occasional plate or two at guests who disturb her in the afterlife. As long as those plates contain fresh oysters or a tasty burger, we don't mind. In fact, if it will keep her from possessing our mortal souls, we'll even buy a happy hour pint for the dear old ghoul. More »
The first time we tried to find Casey Moore's Oyster House and Seafood Restaurant, we got lost. Located on Ash Avenue just two blocks from Mill Avenue, it's actually in a real neighborhood, historic Maple-Ash. By the end of the night, we were cursing the lucky stiffs who have houses just across the street. Whether you're looking for a Friday-night hangout or just a place to grab a drink after a gig, Casey's hits the spot with great specials on frosty mugs of Kilt Lifter and plenty of wait... More »
Casey's is an institution in downtown Tempe, in that you can count on it to be full of crazies any evening after 9 p.m.But during the day, this old, allegedly haunted house is literally a living room for an assortment of characters (some who actually work there and, perhaps, some who work -- or have worked -- for this fine paper) who make the yahoos on Cheers seem like a bunch of strangers. If retirees Sherman and Stormy don't show up, the bartenders are prone to calling to make sure... Approaching its 20th anniversary, Casey's is still the best place to hang if you're too cool for school -- namely, nearby Arizona State. Whether you're a hipster art student or a slacker fifth-year senior, chillin' at Casey's with a plate of crab cakes and a mug of Guinness (and blowing off that 3:15 class on a Tuesday afternoon) is a rite of passage. Don't get us wrong, Casey's ain't just for the college crowd. It's a second home for hundreds of "olde towne" Tempe residents who relish a... More »
Forget the tasty ghost stories, oysters and local brews that make Casey Moore's a favorite dining/drinking hangout for ASU students and Tempe residents. Conversation is the real mainstay of this historic house turned watering hole. Just a brief stroll from the corporate cornucopia of Mill Avenue, Casey's is camouflaged among quaint houses in a small neighborhood on Ninth Street and Ash Avenue. Not only is the place worth singing about (see lyrics in Jimmy Eat World's "If You Don't,... More »
We're not sure who Casey Moore is, but we sure do like hanging out at his house. In fact, all historic homes should be this happening: 13 beers on tap, jocular bartenders who do handstands on the bar, and decidedly un-bar-like dinner specials. And should you find yourself eating in one of the second-story dining rooms, there's no need to order spirits: The home, built in 1910, is reputedly haunted. Mr./Mrs. Moore's front porch and side yard are strewn with tables and benches where the... More »

Whether you're looking for a Friday-night hangout or just a place to grab a drink after a gig, Casey's hits the spot with great specials on frosty mugs of Kilt Lifter and plenty of wait staff to bring it directly to you. Stay inside and watch the game or chill outside on the spacious wrap-around patio and enjoy the night air. Sure, the outdoor seating doesn't hold as much appeal in the dead of summer, but Casey's chipotle chicken wings make up for just about any slight. Yum.
Outstanding restaurant. One of the best patios in the PHX and THE best escargot in Arizona.
Great place to go and hang out with friends.
