Description

As one of the first stops for local commercial fishing boats, the Bar & Grill's adjoining fish market weathered seafood market in Watson Island Marina provides an opportune place to purchase some of the very freshest fish around -- at bargain prices. The restaurant offers a dozen oysters on the half shell; three ceviches (octopus, grouper, and conch); and soft, flaky-crusted homemade Caribbean beef empanadas. Seafood snacks are fresh, and the ambiance can't be beat -- views include the Miami skyline, whirlybirds landing and taking off from a nearby pad, and pelicans posturing peacefully on bobbing boats. They even serve breakfast.

And Casablanca's chefs know just what to do with the bounty delivered daily to their dock. Finding that fine balance... More »

Many years ago I found myself sitting on the outdoor patio at Joe's Seafood Restaurant — a photogenic vista of the Miami River on the horizon, a piece of depressingly overdressed fish on the plate. It was agonizing to think, as I slowly poked at t... More »
