Description
Culver City isn't usually cited as one of the funkiest place in Los Angeles, but the Monday night Funkmosphere party at Carbon on Venice Boulevard begs to differ. Resident funk master Dam-Funk has been laying deep funk cuts at Carbon since the middle of the last decade, and always with no cover, no doorman, and no signs of slowing down. Never mind that he's probably been spinning since before most of the crowd packed around him learned how to dance. If the whole place is the size of a shoebox, then the dance floor at Carbon isn't much bigger than a few footprints tucked into one corner, yet nobody seems to mind. The beer is reasonable, the drinks are stiff and the sweat pours freely from a young midweek crowd that's not afraid to mix it up while the whole place gets down.
