Visitors to Captain Jack's shouldn't expect any elaborate, pirate-themed decor or exotic menu items. The bar takes its name and a few random design cues from the Pirates of the Caribbean films, but the place retains the feel of a strip-mall drinking hole. Despite a life-sized statue of Captain Morgan, a pirate-themed pinball game and a few skull-and-crossbones tacked on the wall, the bar feels pretty standard. There's a table that hosts regular poker tournaments at one end of the space, and a small stage that features live music and karaoke nights throughout the week. The rest of the room is simple and straightforward: tables and chairs for drinkers looking for staples like Pabst Blue Ribbon and Budweiser. Opened under the Captain Jack's handle in 2008, this Westminster strip-mall space has been a bar for far longer. Even with the change in name and theme, it's kept its small-town feel.
