This funky downtown drinking den, located a few blocks from the state Capitol is nothing if not versatile. It's a sports bar, live music venue, and lounge all rolled into one. In the bar, the prime focus is on the televisions, of which the Capitol Sports Lounge has plenty: 14 flat-screens and a 110-inch monster. All the visual firepower pops during football season, when college and pro games are shown literally wall-to-wall all weekend long. For those who aren't quite ready to hit the road after the game is over, there are plenty of jams laid down every evening in the cavernous showroom and lounge. DJs drop a vibrant variety of sounds, ranging from old-school favorites and Top 40 tracks to cumbias and other and Latin dance tracks. In addition to hosting gigs by funk bands and R&B acts throughout the week, the lounge also becomes a hot spot for reggae fans on Saturday and Sunday nights, a testament to the bar's uniqueness.
