Description

A 2,000-pound gold Buddha greets you on entrance, which is fitting since the Canyon is not only the major live-music venue in the West Valley, it's one of the largest bars in the entire city. The expansive, high-ceiling room can seat more than a thousand customers, many of whom sit at long, banquet-size tables that extend outward from the stage. Located in the Whizins Mall, the big music barn is a guitar fetishist's dream, with dozens of autographed classic Gibson guitars mounted on the walls or encased under glass tabletops. A room this big has hosted many big names, including B.B. King, Willie Nelson, the B-52s, Judy Collins, Leon Russell and Peter Frampton, as well as comedians like Don Rickles and Bill Maher. The Canyon has two full bars, and the kitchen serves such tried-&-true staples as steaks, lasagna and filet mignon. Free parking is available in the Whizins Mall lot. All ages, although at some shows ages 18 & under must be accompanied by an adult.
