The Streets at SouthGlenn breathed life back into the grounds that used to house a decrepit mall. Cantina Laredo, an outpost of a national chain, holds down a gleaming corner of the new shopping village. The opulent restaurant -- a cavernous spot with a center bar, warm woods and a modern color scheme -- manages to be dark and intimate, even in the daytime. You can also eat year-round on the patio, where torches keep the air balmy, even in winter. The menu is upscale Mexican dining with a twist -- like the fresh lime squeezed into the signature Casa Rita. But there are other margs as well as mojitos -- and Sunday brunch comes with complimentary Bloody Marys and mimosas.
