Based at its Fairfax District location since 1953, the landmark Jewish restaurant has been a classic rock & roll hangout since the 1960s. Matzo ball soup and piled-high-sandwich faves (pastrami, roast beef and corned beef are salty perfection) plus a full bakery make it an enduring pit stop, especially for late-night crowds. The restaurant is open 24 hours, so expect to see it packed with sweaty clubbers after 2 a.m.

It's been here for many years. Gary Canter does such a great job with it. You just can’t find words to describe people who own restaurants and the great service they provide. I think service is so very important when you’re eating out. I like to eat Lox – they’re outstanding - with a bagel, onions and tomato. I also love their Matzo Ball soup and their bean soup. It’s the only place I can get bean soup with lima beans. It is so delicious.
good ol joint for Jewish rockers
how can u NOT love this place? where normal folks can dine with stars and homeless alike. the waitresses have been here 30+ years and act like your mother-( bossy, but they know what's good for you). my fave is the Noodle Kugle dish and the Rugalahs- SUPER YUMMY! parking can be tricky, depending on what time you hit, you may find street parking, but the lot at the corner is usually the best bet
