Once upon a time, Cameo was a theater inhabited by skaters and punks. Trick contests took place in the alley while bands such as the Circle Jerks, 7 Seconds, Fugazi, and Gwar set up inside the large club. Nowadays, Cameo is one of the main clubs in the Opium Group dynasty. The floor plan is similar to that of neighboring Opium family member Mansion; the large main room features a DJ booth on a stage, and the second-floor balcony overlooks it and the dance floor. Depending on the night, partygoers can get a taste of hip-hop, house, or live performances from some of the biggest names in the industry.

Pop the Dom. Buss that wallet open. Hit the ATM. Repeat. If you've never done Memorial Day in Miami, here's a warning: It's going to get expensive. The bottles aren't cheap. And neither are the hookups. But if you wanna party (or, you know,... More »

To do the VIP experience right, you must follow the lead of the hip-hop heavyweights who visit South Beach to blow off some stress and put a serious dent in their financial portfolios. Sure, their accountants won't be happy come Monday, but Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Flo Rida, Diddy, and even the insufferable Chris Brown know that the top place to be treated like a VIP is the area behind the DJ booth at Cameo. The unassuming plot of nightclub real estate is a flurry of bottle service, posturing,... More »
Meander up and down Washington Avenue on a Saturday night and there's no shortage of clubbing options -- from small and loungy to sprawling and manic. There's even a host of nightspots across the Bay attempting to give South Beach a run for its late-night money. But if you're looking to dance -- period -- crobar remains a sure bet for a sweaty night out. The door policy, while hardly anything-goes, is still relatively relaxed (by Beach standards, at least). Guys, bring a girl, leave the... More »
You've got DJ Irie, who's one of the residents there. Another big super mega club with a high volume of people. Banging house music one night and another night it'll be banging hip-hop.
