Description

Located in the venerable New York Historical Society on Central Park West, Caffe Storico is a cool space, all white and marble, seemingly influenced by Dutch modernism and American colonialism. The food, however, is straight-up Italian, with a Venetian touch. Throw back a few cicchetti (a/k/a small nibbles) like the lovely fried langoustine or creamy burrata before diving into one of the eight pastas available. Don't miss the ricotta cavatelli with chunks of lobster and black trumpet mushrooms or the artichoke mezzaluna with porcini. Definitely stick to the carbs, since mains like roast chicken and osso buco somewhat bore the palate.
