Coffee's always on at Cafe Zuri, a quaint cafe that joined the Highland lineup in the fall of 2012. Husband-and-wife owners Tomas Vojtek and Marianne Rutzer are from Prague and Switzerland, respectively, Vojtek explains, “and we wanted to do something small and local.” So they offer locally roasted coffee from Coda, French pastries from Trompeau Bakery in Englewood, apple strudel from Praha Restaurant in Longmont, and ice cream from Bonnie Brae. But there are international influences at Zuri, too: The art comes from a market in Port-au-Prince and was acquired when Rutzer was in Haiti meeting the two children that the couple, who had their own baby about the time they opened Zuri, are adopting.
One of the best places for coffee in the Highland neighborhood. Great pastries and edibles, and the Coda coffee is excellent. A little small, but friendly and a great addition to the neighborhood!
