Description
This Japanese café fills up during lunchtime when the midtown hordes come in for quick pre-made meals. Variety is not a problem here, as there are over 200 different items to choose from. Bento boxes come warm from the kitchen, like the Zaiya Signature, which is packed with fried shrimp and chicken, noodles, dumplings and more. You can also find spicy chicken with rice, nigiri and sushi rolls, plus plenty of sandwiches filled with things like chicken curry, spicy tuna and egg salad. Stop in before work for breakfast pastries and a cup of coffee. Don't get worried when you come in on your lunch break and see a giant crowd; the lines move fast as most people just pick up their lunch from one of the brightly lit display cases and go (and it helps that the café opens up nine registers during the busiest hours).— Keith Wagstaff
