Description
It's near the busy intersection at Kirby and 59 just outside West University, but Cafe Japon sits off the beaten path, with a couple of other buildings shielding it from the freeway. The interior borders on hip without being over the top, and diners show up in everything from jeans to suits. Fare is standard Japanese with sushi, sashimi, rolls and grilled plates, with the occasional homage to Texas. Cafe Japon is also open late - it's a healthy alternative to greasy spoon diners and fast food, especially with a reverse happy hour that goes until closing.
