Café Jamm is a funky boutique eatery sandwiched between stores in the Whole Foods strip mall. Don't let the restaurant name fool you - although the sister-owners harbor an appreciation for music (their dad is Kenny Millions, a musician noted for his jazz-noise and who for years ran Sushi Blues Café in Hollywood), there's no sax player wailing in the corner and no open-mic night. The sisters take a completely different route with a focus on contemporary American comfort food, offering gourmet versions of throwback favorites such as homemade meat loaf; macaroni 'n' cheese prepared with nutty Gruyère and bits of salty bacon; and freshly made desserts like chocolate brownie with salted caramel.
