One of the largest Peruvian/Cuban chains in South Florida, with four locations in Broward, Cabo Blanco's huge menu covers all the bases: excellent ceviches made with shrimp, corvina, and octopus; fresh and gently handled fish fillets; tender homemade tamales stuffed with pork or chicken and black olives; and milky fish soups that would easily feed a family of four. Rotisserie chicken Peruvian style is a specialty. Don't miss the lamb stew or cau-cau con arroz, a tripe stew with herbs, diced potatoes, and rice. Lunch and dinner entrées run in the $6 to $10 range.
This small Peruvian restaurant is known for their ceviche. Made with fresh and tender fish and sweet potatoes, all cooked in lime juice, it is no wonder that people have been loyal to El Chalan for years. Another popular dish to try is the jalea mixta, which consists of a lightly battered seafood medley and chopped veggies. The meal is served with lime wedges on the side so you can add as much kick as you like to this seafood delight.
You must try: "Ceviche", "Seco a la Norteña", "Papa a la Huancayna", "Lomo Saltado",ummm...
