Description

Cafe by day, bar by night, Byzantio is a comfortable neighborhood hangout that feels a bit like coming home. And, in a sense, you are; it's tucked into an old house along West Gray that's easily accessible for downtowners at lunch or Montrose residents at dinner. The Greek food is better than it has to be for a bar, but don't go at night if you're in a rush. By the time the sun goes down, Byzantio has been trans-formed into a hip, casual bar where the spanakopita and souvlaki are more a bonus to the beer and atmosphere.

For those initial getting-to-know-you interludes, you want a place like Byzantio, where there are plenty of cozy nooks and hideaways with plush sofas under dim lighting. Start off the date with a coffee to maintain awareness during the "So, do you have any brothers or sisters" phase. Move on to some wine or a tawny port to show off your sophistication.
