The local food world eagerly awaited the opening of Butcher and the Boar from former La Belle Vie and Dakota chef Jack Riebel. In the sweltering midsummer sun, a perfectly mixed mint julep served in a frigid tin cup transforms the day from sweaty to spectacular. In the crisp autumn evening, a frosty, caramel-colored beer sipped by the fire extends the light-sweater season. Really, we have only one (albeit long) season in which a day can't be made better by spending time at Butcher & the Boar's patio. The food options include a few awesome bites, including that glorious footlong hot dog. Seating is plentiful, which... More »
