Burger Urge is built on the Barney's template: There's the lo-fi interior with hardwood floors, paprika walls, and college-pub furniture, which is designed not to repel Haight Street's parade of college-age tourists. It sells Niman Ranch patties (turkey, chicken breast, or Garden Burgers can be substituted), priced $8-$10, with names like the Pineapple (pineapple, Swiss, and teriyaki) and the Elvis (peanut butter, bacon, and fried bananas). "Prepare to Be Filled!" is the motto, and the burgers are, indeed, filling. On the weekend, Burger Urge serves brunch.
