Description

Located in an isolated neighborhood that time forgot, Bulgara strives to duplicate a mehana, a Bulgarian neighborhood tavern that specializes in brandy called rakia and the food that goes with it. There are bread dips and salads galore, many featuring the restaurant's excellent feta. Find it on the chopped salad called shopska, in the mélange of eggs and veggies called mish-mash, even sprinkled on the fries. Main courses-sided with excellent white-beans vinaigrette-run to various moldings of ground pork and beef. Most recommended: the long sausages called karnache.

Take your pick--they're all delicious. Or get the equally good... More »
