When you walk into the Buck Tavern, the aromatic waft of fried foods is the first thing you notice. The second is Chris Daly. Yes, the infamous former city supervisor is now the proprietor of this mid-Market bar and it shows: posters pimping Lefty causes hang from the walls, the TV is tuned to meetings on The Government Channel, and perhaps even Daly himself will sling your drinks. But the Buck doesn't stop there. Regardless of - or perhaps even in spite of - your political affiliations, this casual tavern offers an amiably laidback environment in which to shoot some pool, nosh on a greasy burger and fries, and quaff cocktails that lean toward the cheaper end of the spectrum. Just don't bring up taxes.
