Delray Beach, FL 33444
New Times Broward-Palm Beach's Description
White-washed wood lines the walls throughout the rectangular space of Union, an eatery serving Asian comfort food. A collection of 16 monitors span a 16-foot media wall for watching sport games. The scene changes as much as the people watching at this restaurant in the thick of Atlantic Avenue. Rich Achaia helms the kitchen, the former chef / owner at Dolce Amore Cafe in Delray Beach. Asian flavors serve as inspiration for kung pao lamb chops, Korean barbecue, and deconstructed ramen. "There's going to be some molecular gastronomy involved," Achaia says. Cocktails are playful too, such as the S'more-inspired one concocted with marshmallow infused vodka, and the rim is dusted with chocolate and crushed graham crackers.
