The Dive Bar
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308
New Times Broward-Palm Beach's Description
The Dive Bar is the Galt Ocean Mile's quintessential locals-only spot off A1A in Fort Lauderdale. But don't let that name trick you; it's no hole in the wall. Its namesake is actually for the snorkelers and divers who have a tendency to hang out there. Filled with pool tables, an enormous bar, and a stage for live acts and karaoke nights, the Dive Bar has all the necessities for a great night out. Not only is this bar unique in décor but its crowd is an eclectic bunch who will share stories of the great sea with just about anyone who is interested. Completely laid back, the Dive Bar is an ideal watering hole to grab a drink and a bite after a long day at the beach.
Tips from foursquare
This dive bar lives up to its name: specifically $4.75 domestic bottled beers, karaoke, $5 well drinks, and a happy hour that spans from noon to 7 p.m. It also has a full kitchen serving everything.
Worlds longest happy hour. 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Buy one get one.
Plenty of beer, including a couple micros, as well as wine and the harder stuff. The main stage is home to some of the hottest local bands.
I saw things during my two hour stay at the dive bar that I cannot even comprehend quite yet. I want to pour bleach in my eyes.
Beer, great people, awesome local tunes!
