New Times Broward-Palm Beach's Description

When Tuscan couple Anna Maria and Giancarlo Monegatti say Saporissimo ("extremely delicious"), they mean it. This charming, shabby-chic restaurant two blocks from swank Mizner Park is a luscious secret, serving authentic Tuscan farmhouse dishes like ribollita soup, homemade pappardelle with wild rabbit sauce, pheasant with mascarpone sauce, and venison with porcini (or truffles) mushrooms -- a lineup of game meats and succulent, homemade ravioli, gnocchi, and tagliatelline whose equal you'd be hard-pressed to find in this vicinity. Veal lovers will swoon over the veal picata with foie gras, truffles, sage, and marsala. Desserts are stellar. Coupled with the charm of the hosts, who tend to the tables along with a couple of black-eyed Roman men, dinner here is an unforgettable experience.

Incredible family-run Italian restaurant where the wife cooks while the husband socializes and displays the fresh imported goods using his endearing Italian charm. Great date night spot!

No matter how many times you dine with the Monegattis, a husband and wife from Tuscany (she cooks, he charms your pants off), you always feel like you've discovered something. Maybe it's the well-worn look of the... More >>
