New Times Broward-Palm Beach's Description
Like most awesome elements of nature, sea turtles are seriously threatened by our pain-in-the-ass human race. Luckily, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center of Juno Beach is an organization dedicated to helping the gentle little ocean-dwellers out. Founded over 25 years ago by Eleanor Fletcher, aka "The Turtle Lady," this Juno Beach non-profit now has a full service vet hospital, exhibit hall, outdoor classroom, research lab, and resource center. So wayward turtles always have a place to turn to.
Our mission is to promote conservation of Florida's coastal ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles. Our vision is to be recognized locally and internationally as the leading authority in sea turtle education, research and rehabilitation.
Tips from foursquare
A huge number of Sea Turtles nest right on the Jupiter Coastline and this is the primary research and protection facility to help save these sea reptiles.
Everyone in the family will love these inspirational turtles. Pack a lunch and picnic in Loggerhead Park or have lunch at Little Moir’s Food Shack just four miles north on US 1.
Make sure to visit the turtles.
Kids love the ocean-inspired story time here on Wednesday mornings. No registration… and free.
