New Times Broward-Palm Beach's Description
Donna's Caribbean Restaurant in Lauderhill is only one of five locations that are everywhere from Margate to Lauderdale Lakes. Here you'll find all of the Jamaican specialties that Caribbean restaurants across west Broward County use to lure in those hungry for a taste of home, as well as one of the largest arrays of Jamaican breakfasts. Ackee and saltfish is a Jamaican breakfast hash. Ackee is a tropical fruit whose flesh has the look and consistency of scrambled egg; the fish is a salty, meaty died codfish. All breakfasts come with a sweet fried dough balls, nutty boiled bananas and sweet fried plantains.
