Description

New Times Broward-Palm Beach's Description

Don Ramon Restaurant is the ultimate in Cuban dining, serving West Palm Beach since 1990. The food is endless with beef, pork, chicken, and seafood options galore. The specialty item offered is the paella (great for any Quinceanera or other special event), which contains baby lobster, shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops, fish, and chicken mixed in yellow rice and sweet plantains. This serves two people for under $40, but you can call to make larger orders. Also, what would a Cuban meal be without a coffee to follow? Don Ramon has Cuban coffee, cortadito, café con leche and more. And for desert, not only do they offer the classic flan, but they have flan con coco which is a flan with coconut. The typical entrée will range from $10-$18, all appetizers are under $8, and all soups under $4. The restaurant is family oriented with friendly bi-lingual waiters.

Very cute place. They have great lunch specials and carry Perfect Vodka!.

Best Cuban food in town. My favorite: "pollo asado con frijoles negros y maduritos" for a very reasonable price. Go during the weekend and enjoy Latin live music. You gotta try the "Chicharritas".

If you're looking for a nice red wine with dinner, try their Malbec. It's not too earthy, and compliments most of their rich dishes nicely.

Ask for tostones instead of platanos maduro. They are delicious.

Food was great, service not so much. Best plantains ever! My husband had to go to the bar to get his iced tea filled. He said it.s the worst service he'd ever experienced and will never return.
