Description

New Times Broward-Palm Beach's Description

Just when you thought it was over, along comes a diner to restore your faith in this languishing genre. Who knew chichi Palm Beach restaurateur Jo Larkie had meat loaf, pot pie, banana splits, blueberry pancakes, grilled ham-and-cheese sandwiches, and hot apple pie à la mode in her bag of tricks? You'd never guess a crowd of Palm Beach fans had followed her across the bridge and lunch regularly at City Diner, not from the down-home feel of this old Pizza Hut building, its walls full of kitschy diner memorabilia, its honest middle-aged waitresses, and the old milk-shake machine churning out floats and egg creams as if the joint were somewhere in Hackensack, not West Palm Beach. You can't get a bad breakfast, lunch, or dinner here, but don't miss the Reuben sandwich; it's a stunner.

We had gone there after being ignored for over 15 minutes at a restaurant further down the road. We were delighted to find such a cute establishment and the food was great! However this was short lived. We... More >>

Great diner food plus more upscale nightly specials for half the price you'd pay in other local restaurants. Family owned and run, so the quality exceeds expectations. Also great for breakfast and lunch.

Very good for breakfast, the made on site corned beef hash is a-mazing. The sliced ham is also very high quality- in all very high quality food for a reasonable price.

The eggs benedict is delicious!! It comes with A very rich hollandaise sauce that does NOT taste like watery yolk. Make sure you put this on you todo list and give it a shot.

Great place to eat, but usually crowded. Food is excellent. If you get a booth ver comfy. Outdoor deck permits dogs. They will provide water bowls friendly staff.
