Lake Worth, FL 33467
New Times Broward-Palm Beach's Description
An enormous pool hall and Irish restaurant and bar in western Lake Worth, Brian Boru's offers 12 Simonis cloth pool tables to bar patrons and county and regional tournaments for the American Poolplayers Association. The pub's two bars, a small one in front and a long one that runs along the side wall opposite the pool tables, are lined with televisions. Sports games and UFC fights appear larger than life on the pub's six giant projection screens. Brian Boru's offers several food and drink specials throughout the week. Happy hour starts when the pub opens and runs until 7 p.m., wit all liquor drinks half-priced and select beers $2 for bottles and $1.25 for drafts. During games, domestic buckets cost $11 and import buckets $13. Between 9 p.m. and midnight on Thursday, patrons flip a coin with the bartender to see who buys the drink. During the weekday happy hour, appetizers are half off and pool is free from 4 to 6 p.m. The kitchen is open until the bar closes at 5 a.m. and serves breakfast between 1 and 5 a.m.
Tips from foursquare
Hands down, the worst experience ever. The staff was unfriendly, and the service was non-existent. We left without receiving our food after waiting AN HOUR for 10 wings. Steer clear!
