The steaks at Brenner's steakhouse location on Buffalo Bayou near Memorial are wet-aged, USDA Prime and they're served in a puddle of au jus. It's a smart idea. The meat juice soaks in as you cut each bite, so there's never a chance for dry-tasting meat.

I have visited this location dozens of times and the service and food have always been first class. Imagine my surprise when I attempted to make a reservation for ~30 people for dinner with 6 months advanced notice and met with nothing but roadblocks. NO, we can't seat you on the patio because we have a very busy Happy Hour... NO we can't seat you in that section without a guarantee of $150 per head... NO we can't allow 30 people to order off the menu, you have to use a scaled down menu... WOW!! Admittedly, Taylor (Manager) and Anthony (General Manager) were very pleasant to interact with. And despite Anthony's acknowledgement that he didn't think it was a good decision on the part of "Brenner's" to take these stances, he intimated the decision ultimately resided with Chris Franklin of there Corporate office. To be very clear, there are many other restaurants throughout Houston that will gladly accommodate a party this size that plans to eat and drink in grand fashion without much fuss and will take great care of their waitstaff. I've often wondered how any business survives when their very own General Manager doesn't have the decision making authority to do what he thinks is right......
