Now in it's third decade of business, Brazos River Bottom welcomes all comers, be they cowpoke or otherwise; following Mary's closure, it inherited the title of Houston's oldest gay bar in its original location. Known as an amiable meeting place for those who dig the cowboy vibe, BRB has pool tables, pinball, a back patio, a side bar aptly named The Sidepocket and a dance floor that dates from the days when the 1887 building's Midtown address was "out in the suburbs." The very friendly staff will take the time to know you by name, whether on a slow Monday or raucous weekend.
