Description

Cheffed by Laurent Tourondel-whose Cello was one of the city's most ambitious restaurants five years ago-Brasserie Ruhlmann sets its sights much lower, but succeeds admirably in re-creating a facsimile Parisian brasserie. There's an outdoor seating area, too, if you happen to be in the mood.

Other highlights at this latest project of chef Laurent Tourondel on a menu that strikes regional French notes include skate grenobloise, saucisson lyonnaise, and--of course--oysters Rockefeller. In warm weather, when the noisy patio is... More »

The artichoke ($11) is steamed an intriguing shade of green, one that will never appear in fashion forecasts. The innermost leaves and furzy parts have been weed-whacked, leaving a deep well for the fever-yellow sauce, a mustard vinaigrette so thi... More »
