Description

The hot, spicy cooking of China's Hunan region -- heavily filtered through American tastes -- is the star attraction at these fun, no-frills venues. The extensive menu offers a wide variety of snacks, starters, and entrées, including plenty of vegetarian options and several house-smoked meat dishes. There are even a dozen or so nonspicy preparations for the pepper-wary. The service is fast and friendly, the stipend is minimal, and there's no MSG in the food.
