There are aspects of the Boulder Outlook Hotel that are exactly what you’d expect from one of the premier hotels in the People’s Republic -- for example, the fact that it’s a zero-waste facility. And then there are aspects of this home-away-from-home that are unexpected, such as the exemplary blues outpost Blues & Greens Restaurant. There are staples like free breakfast, a pool and hot tub, and then only-in-Boulder extras like a dog run, bouldering rocks and a waterfall that pours into the aforementioned pool. There are several tiers of room rates available, ranging from surprisingly reasonable to extravagant (but still reasonable). And with blues jams on Sundays and Tuesdays,... More »

One of the few spots on the Front Range dedicated primarily to the blues, Blues & Greens takes that dedication seriously. Almost every night of the week, it brings in fine local talent like the Delta Sonics, Lionel Young and the Informants, or nationally recognized acts such as John Nemeth, Bob Margolin, Alvin Youngblood Hart and...
