As far as bars go, The Boneyard is one for the dogs. No, seriously. This Washington Avenue spot just north of I-10 is believed to be the world's first combination bar and dog park. With 7,000 square feet of fenced-in backyard for the pups, a roomy patio, and interior filled with doggy decor, this drinkery caters both to man and his best friend. No food or liquor is served due to Houston's ordinances concerning four-legged creatures, but Boneyard's beverage selection includes several microbrews, wine and coffee, and you can order bites off the various food trucks that come through.
Houston has plenty of nice neighborhood city-run dog parks, but we think the funnest place for both Fido and you is the Boneyard. Why? Because you can get your drink on while Fido plays fetch. The bar just north of Memorial Park has a 7,000-square-foot double-fenced yard with picnic tables, toys, poop bags, water and a dog-washing station.
