The sister establishment to the similarly Aussie-themed Sunburnt Cow, Bondi Road has a surfer vibe that provides Lower East Side boozers a sunny respite from the neighborhood's darker drinking dens. Seafood is big here; raw oysters and cocktail shrimp are in abundance, as are mussels cooked in Coopers Beer. The fresh fish of the day comes either grilled, breaded, or fried for $10. You can also order the infamous Burger with the Lot, the classic Aussie burger piled with bacon, beets, a fried egg and more. If you couldn't tell by the surfboard hanging over the entrance, the giant photo murals of Sydney's Bondi Beach will alert you to the beach bum theme. Tipsy bar-hoppers sit at the blue banquettes consuming brightly colored drinks like the Silver Surger (vanilla vodka plus peach and lychee juice) and the Boomer Beach (mango-flavored Stoli, Southern Comfort, orange and lemon-lime juice). If it's warm enough outside to surf, then it's warm enough to sit at one of sidewalk tables in front.—Keith Wagstaff
