Description

Just off Fairview and Taft in the heart of Montrose, Boheme crept on the scene a few years ago after a lengthy and extensive remodeling. The moody lighting, wraparound patio, and eclectic smattering of classy chairs and couches set a charming atmosphere to enjoy the well-curated wall full of wines organized by region. Boheme's homemade sangria is a big hit, and thanks to the second bar on the back patio, grabbing a drink is fast even when there's a crowd. That patio is deceptively small from the outside, but its red-lit expanse provides some of the best ambiance in the neighborhood. We simply didn't realize how big it was until we had to call a friend on her birthday to find her party out back. Some your favorite Montrose bartenders are on staff to guide you into a hazy reverie.

Spacetaker is a nonprofit arts collective "whose mission is to provide artists and nonprofits access to economic development, continuing education and networking opportunities to support their professional growth." And what better way to network than to do so with alcohol So every Thursday, Spacetaker and Boheme invite a different arts group to a special happy hour event, from 5 to 10 p.m. There's no shortage of talented artists and crazy creative folk in Houston, so there's always... • 2009 | Best Rum Cocktail

Perhaps it's a combination of the Spanish decor and slightly tropically tinged atmosphere of Boheme that makes rum the drink of choice here. Or perhaps it's just the killer mojitos the place turns out day after day to thirsty crowds of art lovers and assorted Montrose rogues. Whether freshly muddled (you can smell the bright snap of mint as soon as you walk in) or frozen, mojitos are on nearly every table here, along with glasses of wine and Boheme's famous homemade sangria. Sipping your... More »

Nice little wine and appetizer place. Empanadas are very good (much better experience here than at Ziggys across the street). The staff is skilled/ friendly although more focused on the young lady customers ( can you blame them?). Surprisingly inexpensive prices and good atmosphere.. My group ended up taking most of the back outdoor patio and all had a good time!
