The Schmitz clan strikes again. Frank Schmitz, who operates BARcelona and Costal Bistro & Bar on this same Clayton block, offers Italian cuisine at Bocce Bar. The broad menu features higher-end, but mostly reliably conventional, takes on such dishes as spaghetti carbonara, veal scaloppine and fried calamari. The thin-crust pizzas feature interesting toppings, like the "Lobster B.L.T." with lobster, bacon, arugula and creme fraiche. The meatball, available as an appetizer or, at lunch, on a sandwich, is one of the best in town.
