If you are a supporter of our military and the men and women who serve and have served this country, please read on. Last night at Bob's Chophouse in Plano we were treated rudely by the GM, Silvio Carbone. We were having dinner with our daughter and son-in-law when he approached the table about my husband's service dog. The dog is kept in a carrier and is all of 6 lbs. The dog did not make a peep,... as he is trained to be in public circumstances. He is the rudest GM I have ever met! We eat at many fine restaurants in the Dallas area and no one has ever treated us in this manner. We are welcomed at Sullivan's, Pappas Bros, Del Friscos, Arthurs and many other eating establishments. There has never been an issue with the service dog. Mr. Carbone approached our table in a very aggressive manner and told us we could not have the dog. If he had merely asked about the fact that the dog was with us and if there was a reason, we would have been happy to inform him. The only thing a disabled person is required to tell someone is that the dog is a service dog. Once that information has been given, that is all that is sufficient. However, Mr. Carbone informed us that ten people had complained. Even if that were true, which I doubt, we are within the law to have the service dog with us. I provided Mr. Carbone with the documentation that the dog is required by a physician. He took the documentation, left the table and returned in a few minutes. He threw, yes, threw the document on our table, turned around a left. I pursued him to how rude and inappropriate I thought his behavior was. He asked questions about what the dog did and what his purpose was, which are both inappropriate questions. A disabled person does not have to say what or why, only that the dog is a service dog. I told him that he should apologize to our table. He ruined our very expensive meal. He said he had a "bad temper." He said he would not apologize to the table, but he would apologize to my husband. He did so as we left. If you are a supporter of our soldiers, past and present, please voice your opinion of this GM and his behavior and let Bob's know as well.
$$$$, but worth every penny!
Even in Plano, everything about Bob's is exaggerated, from the endless mahogany wood paneling to the near-golf-ball-sized jelly beans kept in a large bowl near the entrance. That goes for the drinks, too, especially the martinis. In truth, the... More »
Americans love steak. Well, nobody could afford it in the 1930s, and the government rationed steak in the '40s. In the 1970s, Californians took over cuisine, substituting tofu and such for red meat. And in the '80s we considered it a deadly,... More »
