This Dallas version of the Blue Mesa trio (the others are in Addison and Fort Worth) has a stunning entry. The narrow passage resembles a river gorge with sheer stucco walls and stones that lead to a pair of huge wooden doors. Positioned on the second floor in the Lincoln Park strip, the interior is replete with chic Southwestern touches. The hybrid menu merging Mexican, New Mexican and South American touches remains clean and vibrant, with few changes over time. On a recent visit the adobe pie was rustic and full of chicken and corn. Their two-toned corn chowder and black bean soup blends earthy and sweet flavors nicely. And they serve a trio of chips with two salsas. Good place to compare tequila shots, too.

Blue Mesa is Dallas is better than a mexican resurant it's got the most delicious southwest flavors and menu selections. Sign up for their email club to get free b-day coupons, but definitely don't wait until your birthday to go.. The first time I tasted Blue Mesa, I thought 'mmm gourmet' my second thought was 'but without the gourmet prices!'
