Description

Blue Bonnet may not serve the most authentic Mexican food in town, but a meal here has been an authentic Denver experience for nearly four decades. You can eat that meal in the modest dining room, the colorful bar or out on the patio -- which has grown to the size of a beach over the years and is an ideal spot to eat hot salsa and chips and drink cold beers while watching Broadway's traffic go by. The big menu includes all the traditional standbys -- good, greasy rellenos and big burritos -- but there are also some newer, innovative offerings, including smaller servings. And everything tastes just a little bit better when doused with one of the Blue Bonnet's new, housemade sauces.

Very disappointing food. It didn't taste fresh and the presentation and prep were obviously sloppy and lacked attention to detail. The margarita was pre-mixed and was served out of a hose. Thumbs down. It's not the seventies anymore.
