Live oom-pah-pah music, waitresses decked out in cute dirndl dresses, and more than 25 German beers on tap certainly give Black Forest Mill a fun vibe, but the food's good, too. We're fans of the wiener schnitzel, a crisp, golden fried veal cutlet, as well as the decadent jaeger schnitzel, a sautéed pork cutlet slathered in thick, mushroom-studded gravy. With a spacious bar area (where there's a sports bar vibe), cozy dining rooms with curtain-draped booths and dark wood paneling, and even a small dance floor (there's live accordion music on Friday and Saturday nights), it's a refreshingly unpretentious -- and welcome -- addition to the increasingly upscale Arcadia neighborhood. From wiener... More »
How often do you go out for German food? Probably not that frequently, considering there are only a handful of places in the entire Valley that serve it. I admit, I don't indulge in it that often, either. But not because it's too exotic. If... More »
