Description

Black Bottle looks lovely from the outside, beckoning passers-by with its warm light, rows of wine bottles and handsome Belltowners huddled over small plates. The menu ranges wildly, so it's up to the eater to establish a dinner theme: There's fried chicken, boar ribs and bacon-wrapped scallops for bourbon drinkers. Diners hoisting tequila might prefer cumin pork and ceviche. The food quality is aggravatingly inconsistent and service is scattered -- orders have a way of disappearing here -- so don't bother trying to make too much sense of the edible situation. Instead, enjoy the ambiance which likely lured you in.

SAYING THAT YOU don't like Belltown is like saying you don't like the rain, and I've been guilty of making both banalities. There comes a time in December or so when I get sick of the cold, wet blanket of gray surrounding the city, and there comes... More »

I dig this place. Great vibe. It feels open and fresh. The type of people I bump into here tend to be of the yuppy-ish or mingling singles variety. The pricing on the appetizers was not bad at all. I have sat at the bar and also back in the dining room. I had great service at both spots.

Such a fun spot for Happy Hour or a get together downtown! I recommend the broccoli (everyone does) and flatbreads. Delicious!
