Description

Big Shots Billiard Bar & Grill-or "the big red barn," as it's known by locals- is one of the best places in town to shoot some stick. Inside this enormous wood-paneled pool hall are 13 billiards tables where you can get in on the action, or you can just sit at the bar and enjoy listening to an assortment of tunes from the jukebox. The joint offers free pool with lunch every Monday through Friday (11 a.m.-3 p.m.). Happy hour happens weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. and features drink specials such as $3 off pitchers of beer.

    Even after developers transformed shopping centers along El Toro east of Interstate 5 into "The Arbor," Big Shots Billiard Bar & Grill remains unchanged. The pool bar still seems at home nestled next to El Toro Gourmet Meats in the classic "Big Red Barn" that houses both establishments. Judging by the bar's exterior, cowboy boots and Stetsons ought to be mandatory. Of course, Big Shots, like its clientéle, is a little more modern than the exterior suggests. Inside, it has a digital jukebox, arcade games and (of course) 13 tournament-sized pool tables. On weekdays, happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m., with $2.50 domestic beers and $4 imports.
