Description

In 1993, Jim and Pattie Elrod began offering customers sandwiches as large as the appetites of Mardi Gras crowds. The stars here are the po-boys and muffaletta sandwiches. The French-bread po-boys are piled high with seafood choices such as catfish, crawfish and oysters, or a choice of meat, like blackened chicken or roast beef and gravy. The sandwiches are available in 6-inch or 10-inch lengths for all appetites. But more is on the menu. The Big Easy gives patrons a taste of all the New Orleans classics. There are boudin balls, jambalaya, crawfish cakes, beignets, even Zapps Chips. The Elrods' efforts toward authenticity don't stop at the culinary offerings. Their restaurant even hosts the occasional live jazz show.
