Description

Despite being situated in the plastic surgery capitol of the world, Beverly Hills Juice, L.A.’s oldest juice bar, has been attracting health-obsessed Angelenos since 1975. It’s not out of the ordinary to see celebs on the sidewalk sipping from owner and presser David Otto’s nutrient-plenty smoothies, which are made from local and organic-only fruits and vegetables. Highlights include the Big Ten and Green Genie drinks, each containing up to a half-dozen ingredients. For a simpler mix, try one of the many ginger and coconut drinks by the pint. No surprise that some of these concoctions cost up to $9. But for only a buck, you can cleanse yourself with shot of wheatgrass or the blue-green algae E3Live. The obsession for many, though, seems to be the Banana Manna Shakes that blend house-made vegan ice cream with your choice of juice.
