The second location of benjy's is quieter than you'd expect for its Washington Avenue location, without any of the hassle of forced valet or clubby music throbbing in the dining room. Its chic, elegant look is mimicked in the menu, which is full of locally sourced food in Asian-influenced dishes that run the gamut from beef udon to daily sashimi specials. Save room for dessert in the form of its wonderfully geeky beer list and structured cocktails.

Free-range chicken is served with summer succotash, and pork rib eye is paired with Texas peaches in warmer months, while spring sees dishes like Gulf flounder with white asparagus and English peas. Sunday suppers are three-course affairs with whatever Potowski finds... More »
The happy hour scene at Benjy's on Washington is always hopping, and with good reason. What draws the crowd is not just the consistently excellent cocktails but the unbelievably priced bar menu, where a myriad of dishes can be had for a mere $5. The menu changes, but standouts have been the Asian dumplings served on a tangy slaw, chicken and pine nut pizza with truffle oil, crispy salmon mini-tacos, and beef arepas. The food is delicious, and though service is a bit harried because it's so... More »
The place to be seen in the upstair lounge, and a menu downstairs that is among the bests in Houston.
This location has much better food than the one in the Village. I recommend both the seared scallops and ahi tuna entrees (f you like seafood)...everything is good though!
great food & fab mixed drinks
