  • Description

In a town as party-centric as Miami, nightlife infiltrates everything. A relaxing day at the pool becomes a debauched Sunday Funday pool party. A night at the ball game transforms into a rowdy, booze-fueled fete at the Clevelander inside Marlins Park. And just about anytime you go out to see some art, from Wynwood’s art walks to beer- and liquor-sponsored gallery openings, you’ll likely be taking in a cocktail or two along with the culture. The Bass Museum (2100 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) is no stranger to parties. Its Beats After Sunset series, taking place the first Friday of every month, combine three things Miamians love: complimentary booze, a live DJ spinning party jams, and, oh yeah, art. While you’re sipping free Herradura tequila, you’ll be able to take in the work of Charles LeDray, who shows off his mastery of scaled-down sculpture in works such as Men’s Suits. Then it’s back to the terrace to hear the sounds of DJ Joseph Anthony before the party ends, at which point you can head to Chalk (1234 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) for an afterparty that comes with — you guessed it — a free drink and a free hour of Ping-Pong.
